Island Hiking
When it comes to the desire to hike, the Hawaiian islands are a perfect place to start. Island hiking in Hawaii is one of the top activities enjoyed by tourists to this beautiful state. Hawaii is home to islands like Big Island, Oahu, Kauai, Maui, Lanai and Molokai. Each of these islands has their own special brand of Hawaiian charm to offer. Regardless of where you go you can expect to enjoy gorgeous weather and incredible scenery. Often, the best way to explore the landscape is on foot. There are all kinds of hiking tours that will take you to a wide variety of locations.
On Maui alone there is a huge array of hiking trails that take you through lush foliage and gives you the chance to see beautiful tropical plants and flowers. You may also see some colorful birds, butterflies and other native animals. A few trails on the island of Maui to check out include the Waihee Ridge Trail, the Redwood Trail and the Poli Poli Trail. No matter how many miles you want to hike there is a trail for you on this island. The lengths range from under one mile to several miles.
Every one of the islands, including Big Island, have places for hikers to explore and enjoy. On Big Island there are guided excursions that will take you to Kilauea Volcano and Kona Cloud Forest. These are some of the most popular tourist attractions in the state because they are so majestic and beautiful. You will want to take plenty of snapshots so you will always remember the sights of this incredible destination. No matter which of the islands you choose to spend your time on there will be opportunities for exploration on foot. This is not only a great way to see the sights but also a wonderful form of exercise.
Of course you would be foolish to limit yourself to exploring the island only by hiking without taking time for other things. There are sport utility and ATV tours, boat tours, bike tours, horseback tours and even helicopter tours for those who want a thrilling birds-eye view. If you are planning a trip to Hawaii and know you want to do some hiking, research various providers and guides online and book in advance. This will ensure you get to enjoy the experience of your choice. If you don't plan far enough ahead in advance the popular tours may be all booked up when you get there.
